New issue of Houses is hitting letterboxes this week (check @housesmagazine for a sneak peek of what’s inside)! Cover (second image): Jacaranda House by @sp_studio_architecture. 📷 @christopherfrederickjones. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For this issue, I wrote a Revisited article on the Rosebery House in Brisbane by Brit Andresen (first image), owned at the time by @greta_burkett. This building is part of Andresen O’Gorman’s significant contribution to the evolution of the Queenslander house, celebrating and connecting us to our environment through all the senses. Rosebery House is a highly layered building that intentionally intensifies the experience of the landscape. Being at the home reminds you of your place in the world – you can hear the birds and rain, smell the trees and feel the breezes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I love this snap that @dneus took of @_justineclark and I in the courtyard at Robin Boyd’s Walsh Street House this morning. I have so much to thank Justine for, as my earliest mentor and advocate. She took a chance on me as an architectural student thirteen years ago - and I wouldn’t be where I am now without her. (Now get back to writing that article, Justine!)

What an inspiring morning all round - @ollywainwright was engaging and articulate as ever, and I enjoyed having a bunch of awesome Australian writers and editors all in the one room. Thanks @boydfoundation @ngvmelbourne @_timothymoore #melbournedesignweek

A delightful morning with @stuart_vokesandpeters in Brisbane visiting #teneriffehouse for @housesmagazine. This home generously provides its owners with a multitude of occupation modes. See more in my stories.

You might have already got your copy of the latest @housesmagazine as I’m a bit late this time (sorry, was on holidays! 😜)
.
It’s a goodie 🤗 (and I enjoyed writing about @freadmanwhite & @anonstudio’s Whitlam Place)
.
In this issue we welcome our new associate editor @gemmasavio_ . Gemma is a graduate of architecture from the University of Newcastle
and has been a director of her own architecture practice for the past five years. Stephanie McGann (@walklikemcgann) who has worked across some of our sister publications for almost two years, joins the Houses team as our assistant content editor. I know they will both make a valuable contribution to the magazine.

02.02.19 is very special for two reasons - it’s the day my mum, Rosemary would have celebrated her 65th birthday and it’s also the day we welcomed @___matty.d___ to our family. And what a day it was! 💕 @emilysarahgrace .
